My Story
FROM A SMALL TOWN IN CALIFORNIA, TO NAVIGATING THE WORLD OF WINE
I'm Fátima, your Wine guide and the founder of Casa Cultivo.
I grew up in rural California in a family that worked hard and dreamed bigger. As an immigrant and first-generation college graduate, I've spent much of my life finding my place in spaces where I didn't always see people who looked like me or shared my story.
Long before I discovered wine, I dreamed of seeing the world. Travel represented possibility and the chance to learn from different cultures, connect with people, and experience life through new perspectives. Today, I'm fortunate to do exactly that. Together with my husband, I've explored multiple states across Mexico, traveled throughout the United States and abroad, always seeking places where culture, food, history, and community come together.
Wine entered my life as an adult through simple curiosity. What began as a desire to understand what was in my glass soon became a passion for the stories behind every bottle, the people, traditions, landscapes, and generations of craftsmanship that make wine so much more than a beverage.
Along the way, I realized something else.
Too often, wine and travel culture can feel like they're meant for someone else. They can seem exclusive, intimidating, or out of reach.
Casa Cultivo was created to change that.
I built Casa Cultivo for the curious, for people who want to explore the world through wine, food, and culture without feeling like they have to know everything before they begin. It's a space where BIPOC , women, LGBTQ+, immigrants, first-generation professionals, and anyone who has ever wondered if they belong can discover that they absolutely do.
Because the most memorable journeys aren't just about where we go.
They're about the people we meet, the stories we hear, and the connections we make along the way.
